2016 Clutch #4, Spotnose x Joppa

The Joppa gene, originating with Ben Renick at Renick Reptiles, is a dominant, (possibly codominant) gene that acts like the Orange Dream, brightening the colors and cleaning up the pattern. There is one snake in this clutch, featured in the header image, that we suspect is a Spotnose Joppa. The head pattern differs from the plain Spotnose, the body pattern is reduced and there is lots of orange in the lateral pattern. Another one of the hatchlings has been labeled as a dinker, because it doesn’t quite look Joppa, but doesn’t look exactly normal either.
